The Peoria Chiefs are an important part of what makes Peoria such a special place.  We have lost two important members of the Chiefs family in recent days with the passing of long time GM Ralph Converse this weekend and today’s passing of Peoria’s Mr. Baseball himself, Pete Vonachen.  Both men were avid supporters of our organizations and we send our sincerest sympathies to the Vonachen family, the Converse family and the entire Peoria Chiefs family.

Peoria’s quest to become a 2013 All America City continues.  The Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Organization (YPGP) is spearheading the process and young leaders say social media is a key component in the quest for the award.

JD Dalfonso has launched Facebook and Twitter profiles in an effort to keep the community updated.  “The initial response to our Facebook page has been fantastic.  With more than 100 likes in the first day and reaching 200 after three days, it proves people in and around Peoria are interested about our journey and want to be a part of it.”  When you visit Peoria’s All America City Facebook page or follow it on twitter, you will be updated on the team’s progress as they plan for Denver, but more importantly, you’ll be able to interact with the team and give feedback to help them prepare for the national conference in Denver.
