It's been a BUSY few weeks for The Heartland Partnership family of companies.  We have made headlines with several topics including Peoria County topping the national list for wage increases, potential changes in Peoria's cumulative voting system, an energy co-op opportunity, a program to help businesses decipher healthcare costs and beign named a top place to view fall colors.  Check out some of the stories from our regional media below.

Peoria County enjoys largest weekly wage increase
Peoria County is boasting the largest average over the year wage increase in large U.S. counties from March of last year to March of 2011.  "As those jobs start to pick back up they are not only manufacturing jobs, but higher tech manufacturing jobs that come with higher skills that are needed and higher wages being paid."

The U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says of the 322 largest counties in the nation, Peoria County saw the largest increase in average weekly wage between March 2010 and March of this year: 18.9 percent.  Kip McCoy, vice president of the Heartland Partnership says it’s good news.

Elmwood offered low-cost loans for business start-ups
