Getting a Taste of the Region

Date:

Visitors along the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway can now get “A Taste of the Region.”  Artist David Alan Badger has finished a project highlighting businesses and sites along the Byway and compiling architectural drawings and recipes to create the “Taste of the Region” book.

This book features 60 businesses from 18 communities and 104 recipes that are sure to impress.  In addition to the architectural drawings and recipes, there are pages of interesting facts about the region throughout the book.  All Gateway and Portal communities are featured along with a complete list of Byway sites.

“A Taste of The Region” is now available at various sites along the Byway.  A complete listing of locations can be viewed online by clicking here.  The book is also available at the Peoria Riverfront Visitor’s Center and Ottawa Visitors Center for a suggested retail price of $18.

This book is part of a series of seven featuring drawings, recipes, and information about Illinois’ Scenic Byways.  These include: Illinois Lincoln Highway, Illinois River Road, Great River Road, Historic Route 66, Meeting of the Great Rivers, Historic National Road, and Ohio River Scenic Byway.
