Census Bureau is testing for jobs in the Peoria area

Peoria IL, (November 23, 2009)—The United States Census Bureau is testing for jobs in the Peoria area.  The 2010 Census will be taking place in Mid-March, and preparation is underway to ensure everyone in Peoria is counted.  Census testing is in progress for Census Takers, Crew Leaders, Crew Leader Assistants, Recruiting Assistants, and Census Clerks.


 
The salary range is from $10.25 - $16.50.  The jobs are flexible and individuals have the option to work evenings and weekends.  Each applicant interested in Census Bureau employment must take a written test. One such test is called the Field Employee Selection Aid and consists of 28 questions designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities, required to perform a variety of census jobs. The test may be taken in Spanish, upon request, along with an English Proficiency Test. 

Testing will take place at 456 Fulton Street, Suite 402 at 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for each scheduled day.  Tentative dates are as follows (dates are subject to change):
•             Tuesday, November 24th & Wednesday, November the 25th
•             Tuesday, December 1st, Thursday, December 3rd & Friday, December 4th
•             Tuesday, December 8th, Thursday, December 10th & Friday, December 11th
•             Tuesday, December 15th, Thursday December 17th, & Friday, December 18th
•             Tuesday, December 22nd & Wednesday, December 23rd
•             Tuesday, December 29th & Wednesday, December 30th
