The EDC for Central Illinois congratulates the city of Pekin for the recent announcement of a buyer for the famed Dragon’s Dome.  It was announced this week that a tentative agreement to buy the 76,000 square foot inflatable sports dome has been reached with Avanti's Dome LLC.  Albert Zeller, owner of the Avanti's Restaurant chain is the buyer.

EDC’s Chief Operating Officer Vickie Clark says “This is great news for the city of Pekin.  I know the future of the dome has been in question for a while now and it is wonderful to see a community leader like Mr. Zeller step forward.  This is a great sports venue for the city of Pekin and we are thrilled that they are able to keep this asset in the community.” 

The dome sits on 33 acres of property on the east side of Pekin.  The purchase closing is slated for Tuesday.
